Breck Perkins is a veteran construction industry executive with over thirty years of experience on projects of all sizes and types in many geographic locations. He began his career as a journeyman welder and continued on with a formal education in Construction Management at Pratt Institute. His strengths in cost management and construction due diligence have been demonstrated in his long track record of accuracy on demanding and complex projects and his many longstanding client relationships. He has been a registered Professional Construction Estimator for over six years and he is a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators.
As an active participant in the construction process Breck is acutely aware of the on-going necessities of effective project management. These include the continual monitoring of manpower, scheduling and overall project cost. His ability to analyze cost-benefit relationships throughout the project, along with his experience in balancing both design considerations and their related expenses, allow him to advise his clients of beneficial alternatives that deliver quality results. He plays a strategic role in projecting accurate budgets, value management and change order analysis and he has consistently delivered significant value on complex projects to many satisfied clients. He has worked with many well known architects on high-profile projects in all stages, from pre-design through construction, and he has been instrumental in achieving both superb results and the desired design intentions. He continuously expands his knowledge of state-of-the-art digital applications for building information modeling (BIM) and construction cost estimating, including Revit technology to study and model the fifth dimension.
Breck has also served as an expert witness in construction arbitration and mediation cases, representing clients in disputes with contractors. In this capacity he has helped to bring a clearer understanding of claims to be made, assessed distinct responsibility for such claims and has assisted in the recovery of unnecessary expenditures to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
