Stuart-Lynn worked with Toshiko Mori Architect on the renovation of an existing New York City Parks Department building to include new comfort station facilities and a new visitor’s information center building to support the historic home. The new building, situated between an existing pocket park and an MTS transit station, features a large glass window that frames a view of the last house occupied by Edgar Allen Poe, 50 yards away. It primary design elements, a wing-shaped roof and dark slate wall shingles were inspired by the poem, The Raven. Stuart-Lynn provided Schematic Development, Design Development and Construction Documents estimates for the project, as well as Parks Department Reviews and Value Engineering for all phases.
