Brown University – Pembroke Hall

Providence, RI

Pembroke Hall, a historic structure at Brown University, is being renovated inside and out by architect Toshiko Mori.  Once completed, the building will house both the Cogut Humanities Center and the Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women.  The building will include seminar rooms, lecture spaces, performance and gallery spaces, as well as an interactive humanities lab.  The renovations will recapture many of the original historic spaces and details including the facades, fireplaces, friezes and the beautiful top floor.  All of the new programmatic functions will be contained within the existing structure.
