Central Synagogue in New York City is a National and New York City historic
landmark. It is the oldest Jewish house of worship in continuous use
in the city and an excellent example of late 19th century American Synagogue
architecture. In 1998, while undergoing a major renovation and restoration,
the sanctuary was gutted by a devastating fire. Following this accident,
over 95% if the interior finishes required restoration. Stuart-Lynn
Company worked with the congregation and architect Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer
to determine the actual replacement value of this magnificent structure.
